First, the performance that I saw from JYJ—it does not do justice to say that it was the best concert that I’ve ever seen since I was born. I am not just talking about the Beijing Concert in particular (because I did not get to go to the other concerts [of this World Tour]) but rather the World Tour Concert. It was so clearly visible just how hard JYJ had worked for this World Tour itself, just how much they had improved, and just how happy they were after leaving that #$%&#% place that I think I had the best experience of my 8-year-long fan-life.
To be honest, I worried a lot before I went (to Beijing). The tickets were expensive and I thought tens of times that if I went to Xiazart instead (in Korea ) I could go three times—I thought and rethought hundreds of times whether to go or not. But the thing that I felt after I went was that 300,000 KRW (approximately 300 USD) was nothing for a JYJ concert – the quality was that high.
I want to dare to say this. When I was watching the SM concert from the standing pit for 66,000 KRW (approximately 66 USD)—this JYJ concert was 50 times, 500 times betterthan that sort of a concert.
First, you could really so very well feel that JYJ had really considered the fans—when I first went into the venue I was really very shocked at the placement of the seats. To be honest because the protruding stage was said to be absent I thought that I’d not even be able to see them properly, but they had installed things so that you could see the stage well from anywhere in that venue.
Furthermore, the seats that were 1880 Yuan—the ground seats – they put those seats onhalf of the ground only. If it was SM, then in order to sell the most expensive seats in any way possible they would have put those seats jammed-packed on the ground. ButDirector Kim knew that (if one packed the seats) the fans would pay a lot of money but not be able to see very well, and so he only put the seats on half of the ground floor and the rest, he refreshingly left empty. Therefore, the fans who went to the 1880 Yuan seats must have felt like they won the lottery—it was probably difficult for them to see JYJ that up-close (ever).
I was in the 1280 Yuan seats and even from there I could see everything to the degree that I got goosebumps. For those fans who might not know—the screens were clean and huge and there were 2 of them even. The sounds, the laser show, and everything—one by one—you could tell that (Director Kim) had paid attention to every little detail sensitively, so that I felt so very good not merely as a fan but as a consumer. Also, they tried very hard to say “xie xie (Thank you in Chinese) often for the Chinese fans and also in order not to disappoint the Korean fans they shouted “Kamshahamnida” (Thank you in Korean) aloud so often that I was moved.
And in the last talk (it seemed that it was changed suddenly because even the captions didn’t come up), Jaejoong said: “We are not very good at Chinese and so we had no choice but to communicate in Korean, but still you cheered like this for us—thank you.” I think that the Chinese fans probably didn’t understand but this was extremely moving. (You should listen to this carefully when the recordings later comes out).
Not only JYJ but the Chinese fans were also very moving because I could see that they tried to communicate with JYJ. Unlike the usual fan they memorized the parts where “saranghae” goes in no matter what and sang along, and in the case of “In Heaven” they memorized the parts it says “Don’t go, don’t go,” “Lies, lies,” and “Saranghae, saranghae” and really sang along until their throats bled. Of course when JYJ said “Let’s make a wave” no one understood and so they failed three times but other than those songs the Chinese fans sang along on all the parts that they are supposed to sing along to, one by one, and this was touching and even I was thankful to them.
When I talk about the singing parts—I have so much to say.
The first thing that I felt firstly from this concert was that a concert is not a matter of the number of songs, it is a matter of the abilities of the singer… JYJ covered the “The Beginning” albums and Music Essays and no matter what song it was they pulled it off in perfection, in greatness, as if all of them were “title songs.” …
Today’s highlight (for me) was I Can Soar. If you don’t get to hear this you will regret it forever. Junsu’s ad lib came exploding and I really just saw there just listening, unable to scream even once. Sorry to be sentimental but really I was so happy that I could hear Junsu’s singing like this that I cried. ^_T That I was there, that I came to know a singer called Junsu, that I had this opportunity to hear this kind of song—those truths by themselves made me so happy that I cried.
Jaejoong’s Still in Love also had explosive ad libs so that I also got goosebumps and I could not even dare to try to take photos or do anything of the sort. The background of the stage was done so that it seemed that raindrops were falling, and it gave the feel that Jaejoong was lying down and the raindrops fell on him as he sang.
Yoochun’s I Love You had wonderful stage directing. The Chinese fans all fell over, saying that it was sexy.
For You’re, Jaejoong squatted down to sing, meeting the gaze of the fans who sat on the front. This gave to Jaejoong and Yoochun playing around with each other, so that Yoochun was laughing and he couldn’t sing half a verse or so, kekekekek… When doing Found You Yoochun changed the part that says “Thank you for coming to me” to “Xie xie” and after Junsu sings “My heart beats, like this” Jaejoong went one beat too fast in singing “Found you my love” and so he smiled sheepishly.
Mission + Empty. I felt this again today… damn, these songs are just too precious not to be on public TV. T_T_T_T_T But also what I felt was that the music programs of Korea didn’t have the ability to direct this like it was directed at the concert venue.
Listing to the Nameless Song I really had tears. I could feel so clearly just what kind of circumstances JYJ overcame to stand on that stage, and because JYJ themselves seemed to be singing with that in mind, I could not help it.
In Heaven as always was amazing beyond all words and because in the end Yoochun shouted “JYJ BEGINNING AGAIN!!!!!!!!!” I was so thankful.
I think I saw JYJ who were the happiest out of all of the other times that I’ve seen then. They smiled all throughout the singing and they showed just how thankful they were so that I was so very thankful. One thing that I feel disappointed about is that Chinese fans didn’t understand the call to do the Wave and so failing 3 times…. And some “unbearable audience members.”
Also I felt this—Korean fans, if you don’t go to the Pusan concert you will regret it. The fan who is the most pitiful in all the world is not the person who loses out on Xiahzart nor the person who loses out on the Musical Concert nor the 3hree Voices nor the Tears of Heaven, but rather the person who loses out on the Pusan Concert. If you cannot do any of the above but just do the Pusan Concert you’ve passed—it is that good.
If you ever hear me saying “I’m going to quit being a fan (because it is difficult)” just tell me to shut up ^_____^. I felt this after seeing the concert—Not only am I incapable of quitting being a fan, I also do not want to quit being a fan. We need to live all of our lives thankful that we live in the same age as JYJ and that we love them.
