JYJ has filed a lawsuit in Japan against their entertainment company Avex for the reason that it interfered with the concert with which to aid Japan’s damages due to the large earthquakes. Avex has revealed its official position on this issue.
On the 28th, Avex through its official home page dismissed JYJ’s arguments, saying: “Avex legally has the right to JYJ’s management in Japan. Our response (in blocking the concert) is only just and natural to the actions that violate that right (for us to manage JYJ).”
Avex revealed: “This current event is one in which the organize ZAK and JYJ’s Korean entertainment company C-JeS Entertainment has planned without prior permission from Avex. Avex has protested strongly multiple times at this but it was not accepted, and the sales of tickets were unilaterally continued. Although this is the natural action by Avex who holds the legal right we not only received complaints but also the directors were also threatened.”
Avex has revealed its official position: “Currently the reason that JYJ has ceased its activities in Japan is because the lawsuit on the confirmation of the exclusive contract is still maintained in Korea. We will do our best that the lawsuit problems in Korea will all be resolved and Avex can again manage JYJ and also to the aim that they can begin working again as TVXQ in Japan.”
At the same time, JYJ filed for two injunctions in the Tokyo District Court, arguing that: “Avex has engaged in an unjust act in interfering with the concert to aid Japan’s damages from the earthquakes that was to be held on April 5.” At this, Avex has revealed their official position that “to do so was only a just act in order to protect our legal rights” and the issue is gathering attention.
